ask a pro
should i hire someone internally or outsource
my marketing?

Each month, we are answering commonly asked, and important, marketing questions.

This month, Jade Scherr answered the question: How often should I update content on my website?

When deciding whether to hire internally or outsource for marketing, it’s important to consider a few factors:

Expertise and Resources: Hiring an in-house marketer can be great if you need one skill set and have a defined role. However, outsourcing allows you to partner with a diverse team of industry experts who can confidently guide you forward.

Cost and Flexibility: An in-house team can give long-term stability, but it’s vital that the need and benefits outweigh the costs of salaries and training. Outsourcing offers flexibility by paying only for the services you need (without overhead costs and management) and can offer a much quicker turn-around.

Scalability and Adaptability: If your needs fluctuate or you require unique campaigns, outsourcing can be beneficial. Agencies are able to adjust strategies, allocate resources, bring in extra expertise when needed, and complement your in-house efforts.

Remember, there’s no “one-size-fits-all” approach. Sometimes internal marketing is best, other times it’s outsourcing, and in many cases, a mix of both can bring major success. Ultimately, the decision depends on your business’s circumstances, goals, and budget.
