We’re Hiring:
Marketing Specialist
About HexaHive
HexaHive is a Bismarck, ND-based marketing agency helping small and midsize businesses across the Midwest grow through marketing that’s actually grounded in strategy. Founded in 2019, we’ve been named a Top-10 Employer in Bismarck-Mandan five years running, Women-Owned Business of the Year, and we’re known for telling clients what they need to hear instead of just what they want to hear. We’re a full-service team — branding, web, content, campaigns, paid media, design — and we’re unapologetically fun and unquestionably selective about who joins the Hive.
About the Role
The best marketing doesn’t just get done — it gets noticed. This role is for the person who makes that happen.
You’re a marketing executor at your core. You take strategy and turn it into live, working campaigns that actually resonate — the email that gets opened, the social post that stops the scroll, the flyer someone picks up twice. The content you put into the world is clear, human, and on-brand every time.
This role is for someone who genuinely thrives on seeing marketing land — and wants to execute good, creative work long-term. You’re energized by taking a defined strategy and turning it into live, working marketing. You write engaging emails. You schedule social content. You keep platforms running and deadlines met across multiple clients at once. If great content is your foundation, thoughtful execution is your output.
You’d Be a Great Fit If You Are …
- A communicator people actually want to listen to — You write content that earns attention. On a flyer, a website, a social post — you know how to lead with something that makes someone stop and keep going. You don’t reach for jargon or filler. You say the real thing, and you say it well.
- Fluent in brand voice — You can write like a cheeky butcher shop, a nonprofit, and a community bank in the same afternoon. You pick up on tone fast, match it accurately, and never let your own voice bleed in where the client’s should be.
- Proud to execute — You don’t see scheduling, building, and publishing as the mundane part. You know that’s where strategy becomes something people actually experience — and that matters to you.
- A builder, not a browser — When you log into a platform, you’re there to make something. Browsing without building makes you restless.
- Naturally curious — New marketing tools and tactics don’t intimidate you. You approach with curiosity, exploring and looking for new ways to communicate and stand out.
Key Responsibilities
- Write scroll-stopping marketing content across formats — social media, website pages, email campaigns, print flyers, ads, and campaign materials — tailored to each client’s brand voice
- Bring a point of view to content and marketing materials: know when something is flat and fix it, not just flag it
- Resize, format, and schedule social media posts across platforms
- Monitor and engage on published social posts — respond to comments, manage community interaction, flag issues to account managers
- Coordinate with external content creators on deliverable timelines, asset handoffs, and posting schedules
- Build and maintain email campaigns in tools like ActiveCampaign, Kit, and MailChimp
- Research new marketing platforms, tools, and channels, providing recommendations to the team on adoption or integration
- Handle miscellaneous marketing execution tasks as assigned (content updates, platform configuration, etc)
Qualifications
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience creating engaging content and marketing materials for different voices, formats, and audiences
- Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms (ActiveCampaign, MailChimp, Kit, or comparable)
- Experience scheduling and managing social media content across multiple platforms
Preferred: Experience in an agency environment or executing on marketing for multiple clients
Key Skills and Abilities
- Messaging that earns attention — across web, email, print, and social
- Ability to adapt voice and tone to fit different clients, industries, and formats without losing quality
- Attention to detail in content, formatting, and platform configuration
- Ability to execute multiple projects without dropping deadlines
- Comfort learning new platforms independently through documentation and experimentation
- Strong organizational habits for tracking content assets, scheduling windows, and workflow status
Position Details
